CHICOPEE – Elaine (Charette) Trombley, 88, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, January 7, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Ellenburg, New York on April 12, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Francis and Florence (LaClair) Charette. She was raised and graduated from Ellenburg High School in New York and moved to Chicopee in 1964 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed for many years for Acme Chain and Roller Company, now U.S. Tsubaki in Holyoke and enjoyed over 27 years of retirement. She was a longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Elaine loved listening to her classic country music songs but most especially loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Ivan N. Trombley who was Called Home on August 26, 2017. They were married at Saint Edmund Church in Ellenburg, NY on November 12, 1955 and were blessed with over 61 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving and devoted children, Karen A. Schnauber and her husband, Robert, Lynn M. Pouliot and her husband, Brian, all of Chicopee, Kevin F. Trombley and his wife, Heather, of Ludlow, and Michelle T. Smith of Chicopee; her 12 cherished grandchildren, Jeremy Schnauber and his wife, Melissa, Rebecca Schnauber and her companion, Kevin Pouliot, Eric Schnauber and his wife, Ashley, Melissa Pouliot, Justin Pouliot and his wife, Jennifer, Jonathan Trombley and his wife, Desiree, Sara Manley and her husband, Dan, Zachary Trombley and his wife, Shannon, Joshua Danko, Benjamin Smith, Kacie Smith and her fiancé, Dominic Gallant, and Jadyn Smith; her many cherished great grandchildren; her dear brother, Royal Charette and his wife, Elizabeth, of Rochester, NY; her two dear sisters-in-law, Bernice Trombley of Plattsburgh, NY, and Sue Trombley of Ohio; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins numerous friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her six dear siblings. Her relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025 at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
