Thomas Earl Joiner, 84, of Saint Simon’s Island passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Brunswick Hospital in Brunswick. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with his cousin, Dr. Charles P. Adams officiating. Mr. Joiner will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Luke Jones, Donnie Brown, Carol Devlin, Kim DeVane, Brian Jones and Patrick Tabor will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 31, 1940, in Tifton, Mr. Joiner was the son of the late Ernest Cecil Joiner and Geraldine Adams Joiner. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Cecile “Elaine” Joiner. Before retiring, he was a healthcare administrator and C.E.O. of Three Rivers Behavioral Health Service of North Georgia. He was of the Presbyterian faith; and he was a former member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.
Mr. Joiner is survived by his wife, Noel Elizabeth Devlin Joiner of Saint Simon’s Island; three sons, Luke of Savannah, Brian of Dallas, Texas; and Michael of Camas, Washington; three grandchildren, Brendan, Sawyer and Hannah; a special aunt, Patricia DeVane of Hernando, Florida; a special sister-in-law, Carol Devlin (Baby Sister) of Meridian, Idaho; and several cousins and extended family.
