CHICOPEE – Ruth C. “Trudy” (Valcourt) Dulude, 83, of the Ferry Lane section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, January 6, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on January 10, 1941, a beloved daughter of the late Charles and Irene (Casey) Valcourt. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed for many years at the former Champion Packaging / Rock Tenn in Chicopee, however, her greatest pride was raising and taking care of her family. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to many destinations. She loved tending to her flower gardens, bird watching, and singing and dancing with her husband. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Joseph H. Dulude who was Called Home on August 31, 2024. They were married on July 11, 1959 at the former Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 65 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving and devoted daughters, Denise A. Dulude of Belchertown, Anne T. Blanchet and her husband, Michael, of Granby, and Sandra J. Bailey and her husband, Todd, of Chicopee; her six cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Tuttle and her husband, Matthew, Maeghan Gouvin and her husband, Ryan, Michael Blanchet and his fiancée, Coryassa Andrews, Tiffany Texeira and her husband, Christopher, Jordan Bailey and his partner, Nicky, and Lauren Bailey and her partner, Cody; her 13 cherished great grandchildren, her dear sister, Loretta Goldrick of Chicopee; her dear brother-in-law, George Monte of Monson; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved infant daughter, Suzanne Marie Dulude; her cherished granddaughter, Gina Lynn Degray who was Called Home on April 11, 2017; and her three dear sisters, Janet, Peggy, and Carol. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, January 13, 2025 at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
