It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Bryce Austin III of South Boston on January 3, 2025, at the young age of 37. He was the loving son of his father, Bryce and Kellyann Austin of Abington, Mother, Jane, and Joe MacMillan of Quincy. He was the adoring dad to Kayden Ryan Austin and a beloved brother to Steven Ryan, Baileigh Austin, Joseph, Patrick and Rachel MacMillan. Bryce was the cherished grandson of the late Lorraine “Smitty” Smith and the late Dee Lutan. He is also survived and deeply loved by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Known affectionately as “Brycey” by his family and friends, he was someone who always brought the party wherever he went. He bled green as a devoted Celtics fan and was a proud graduate of Abington High School, Class of 2006. Bryce worked in the suites at Fenway Park for many years, where his warm personality left a lasting impression.
At just 18 years old, Bryce was diagnosed with a brain tumor. His cancer journey was undoubtedly a battle, but one he faced with immense courage and resilience. One of the greatest blessings in his life was the day he became a father to Kayden Ryan. Bryce loved his son with every ounce of his being, cherishing every moment spent playing, laughing, and being silly together. He was also a strong father figure to Kaydens brother Dalton, whom he adored.
Bryce will be forever remembered by so many as the most loyal and kind-hearted soul from "Southie" #DStreet. He taught us all to love fiercely and live life to the fullest.
