Margaret “Peggy” (Turnbull) McCarthy, 81, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Sachem Rehabilitation Center, East Bridgewater.
Margaret was born and raised in Jamacia Plain on August 31, 1943, the daughter of the late William R. Turnbull Jr. and Rose M. Turnbull (Reiser). She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas School High School, Jamacia Plain.
Peggy worked many years as a reliable employee at the Bank of Boston, which is now known as the Bank of America. After she retired from the bank, she went on to help serve as a lunch aid for the Whitman Hanson Regional School District. Peggy also spent cherished time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Peggy is survived by her three children, Michelle and her husband John Dunn of Hanson, Michael W. Paquette of Brockton, and William R. Paquette of Whitman; her six grandchildren, Cory, Chase, and Evan Paquette, as well as Kathryn, Jack, and Lauren Dunn. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen M. Turnbull. Peggy is also survived by her two step-children, Dawn, and her husband, Rolland Locke of Middleboro, and David McCarthy of Brockton. Her step-grandchildren, David and Lauren McCarthy.
Margaret is predeceased by her late husband, Frederick A. McCarthy of Whitman, and her late husband, Francis W. Paquette of Taunton.
Family and friends are invited to Margaret’s visiting hours on Thursday, January 9, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the Rotary) Whitman. A burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
