We are sad to announce the death of Mildred Arlene Logsdon88 of Oak View California. Arlene passed away peacefully in her home on January3, 2025 after a brief illness, with her husband James Logsdon and her greatgrandson Gage Powell by her side. Arlene was a lifelong resident of Oak View, growing up onProspect Street, She was crowned Miss Oak View in 1952, graduated from VenturaHigh School in 1954. Her contributions to the community were honored when she wasinducted into the Oak View Hall of Fame on 3.25.2000Arlene was a beloved figure at the Oak View Post Office for26 years. She was a beacon of kindness and love, always handing out candy, sharingsmiles, and offering a comforting presence from across the counter. She cherishedher job and the special bond she had with her customers, many of whom lovinglyreferred to her as “Mom” or “Grandma.” Her dedication and warmth earned her aletter of Commendation from the Postmaster General. Among her many cherished roles, Arlene was an adored Wife,Mother and Grandmother, titles she held closest to her heart. She is survivedby her husband James Logsdon, Sons James Logsdon (Vicki), Rick Logsdon, BillLogsdon, Robbie Logsdon (Cheryl) daughter Corinne Fitzgerald (Mike) Arlene also leaves behind 16 Grandchildren and27 Great Grandchildren. Her home was a welcoming place, not only for her ownchildren but also the many of the neighborhood children who felt like they weretoo “part of the family” Her kindness and love extended to everyone she met. Her legacy will live on in the hearts ofmany. The memory of her warmth and compassion will be cherished by all who knewher.Arlene was preceded in death by her Parents WallaceMcConnell, Carl and Corinne Buker, and her brother Jim McConnell (Glenda) The family wishes to extend their gratitude to AssistedHospice in Ventura, especially Nurse Dana.
