Obituary

Shamong, N.J. - Lisa R. (Mason) Kletkewicz, 63, of Shamong, N.J., formerly of Mystic, passed away at her home Dec. 26, 2024. Born Nov. 2, 1961, in Westerly, R.I., she was the youngest of four daughters born to Florence Louise Mason (Leahy) and the late Ray Mason. She is survived by her sisters, Gari Mason, 74, Avon, Pati Mattrick, 72, Elizabethtown, Pa., Tami Jensen, 66, Mystic; and Steve Jensen, brother-in-law.
Lisa cherished her childhood in Mystic. The ocean held a special place in her heart, and she deeply valued the lifelong friendships forged during countless hours spent on and around the water. Lisa’s profound appreciation for what God offered through nature, a defining characteristic throughout her life, was nurtured in this idyllic setting. Her love for the charm of Mystic's historic character remained a constant throughout her life, inspiring her to seek similar ambiance in every home she made.
Driven by her love of beauty and a strong work ethic, Lisa pursued a career as a hair stylist. Her passion for Redken led her to make a bold move, relocating to California, with no job offer, she tirelessly pursued a position with Redken. Her determination ultimately paid off, leading to a successful career and a prestigious role at Redken Labs that lasted more than 20 years.
It was through her affiliation with Redken that she met Stan, her beloved husband of 31 years. She built a family and a wonderful life with Stan that was filled with what she considered important: love, respect, beauty, care for those in need, creativity, non-stop laughter, and of course organization. These important ideals manifest through the incredibly unique gardens she would create, the ambiance of every home she lived in, and in the relationships she developed.
Lisa dedicated herself to serving others. She volunteered tirelessly at the Ethel R. Lawrence Homes in Mount Laurel, mentoring children through the Homework Club. Her compassionate spirit also led her to volunteer at the Federal Corrections Institute at Fort Dix, where she was honored as "Volunteer of the Year" by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Lisa cherished her family deeply. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Tyler and Harry (Abby); and a loving grandmother to Aliyah, Malikai, Selena and Keyori. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild from Harry and Abby later this year. She is held close in the hearts of so many friends and extended family members and will be missed immeasurably.
A gathering of family and friends will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge, 4 Sawmill Road, Medford NJ 08055 or at cedarrun.org
