Obituary

Janet L. (Vidito) O’Keefe, 70 of Dracut, passed away on December 30, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital, after a courageous battle with a brief illness surrounded by family.

Janet will be most remembered for her generous and loving spirit. Born on April 6, 1954 in Woburn MA, to the late Walter Vidito and Ruth (Kent) Vidito. Raised in Wilmington MA before moving to the Greater Lowell area in 1972. She graduated from Lowell High School.

She found her passion in advertising at the Lowell Sun as an Advertising Representative, volunteered for the Alternative House working with children and advocating for battered women. She retired in 2020 at Continental Resources in Bedford MA, after working accounts for 20 years.

Janet had a gift for empowering others in friendship, business and just life stuff. She loved to lounge with her Japanese Chin’s, travel, socialize and reach out to others wherever she went. She touched our lives and loved us dearly to no end.

She took these last couple of years in reflection and faith.

She leaves behind her life companion of 26 years Carl Pitcher and her previously married lifelong soul mate Edward O’Keefe Sr, her son Edward O’Keefe Jr and wife Tracy (Elias) O’Keefe, her grandson Tyler Gagnon. Her siblings Wiliam Vidito and the late Rolland Vidito, Linda (Vidito) Fisher and Charlene (Vidito) Blanchard, her dogs Sunset and late Gia Maria, her nieces and nephews, in laws and extended family.

Her final slogan to us – "be the sunshine." She will be deeply missed.
