Mary J. Lovett
Mary J. Lovett (nee Cusick) passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Quincy, Massachusetts. Born on July 12, 1929, to the late Joseph F. and Evelyn (Jordan) Cusick, Mary grew up in Stow and lived in West Roxbury, Randolph and Hough’s Neck. A graduate of Emmanual College with a degree in chemistry, Mary worked in medical research and as a hospital phlebotomist. She had an enduring interest in learning and was always open to new experiences. Mary traveled to Europe, Africa, Australia, Canada, the southwest and northwest U.S. and often to her cherished vacation spot, Cape Cod. At 95 she was still delighted to see a bright sunny day, the ocean and the ships passing by her Hough’s Neck home on Hingham Bay.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Paul and son Paul (Tony), daughter-in-law Cindy, brothers Joseph and David, and sister Isabel. Mary is survived by children Patrick (Kara), Susan (Matthew), Martha (Peter), Joseph (Carmen), Daniel (Stacy), daughter-in-law Sandra and her grandchildren Patrick, Hannalise and Iliana.
Mary was a woman of grace with a canny wit and an acerbic sense of humor who loved life, birds, adventure, plants, animals, music, art and family. Mary was open to all that life had to offer, she transcended boundaries, and explored the horizons opened to those who looked. Mary will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life Service and an Interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to your favorite animal charitable organization.
