Obituary

Composed with love by her family.

Claire Elizabeth Babineau, 63, passed away peacefully at her home in Tewksbury, on January 1, 2025, surrounded by her husband, son, daughter-in-law, and sister.

Claire is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Babineau, of Tewksbury; her son, Duran McNeill; her daughter-in-law, Madeline Callanan; and their two sons, Jackson and Maddox McNeill, all of Tewksbury. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Enge Murray, of Tewksbury, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Shirley and Donald McNeill, her beloved brothers, Donald and Frank McNeill, and her nephew, Carl Giannelli.

Claire was born in Somerville to the late Shirley and Donald McNeill. She was raised in Winchester until the age of nine, when Claire moved to Tewksbury where she spent the remainder of her life.

She graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1979 with a major in Graphic Arts and worked in the graphic arts industry for a decade.

In 1983, Claire met the love of her life, Thomas Babineau. The couple married in 2004 and together co-founded TCD Contracting, Inc., a successful construction and demolition business that Claire built alongside her husband Thomas and her late best friend, Ronnie Hannon, of Burlington.

Her greatest accomplishment was her son, Duran. She often referred to Duran as the “sparkle in her eye”.

Claire shared a special bond with her sister Enge, they enjoyed interior decorating, music, and raising their children together.

Claire and Thomas treasured their Sunday afternoon Harley rides and snowmobiling trips to northern Maine. Summers were joyfully spent at their beach house in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where they created many cherished memories with family and friends.

Clair’s life was marked by love for her family and friends and an adventurous spirit that inspired those around her. She will lovingly be remembered for generosity, compassion, and wisdom.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
