David Lawrence Welch, Sr., 75 of Lowell, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the widower of the late Denise (Garceau) Welch.
He was born on January 28, 1949 in Lowell and was a son of the late Leo L. Welch and the late Lillian (Brennan) Cutters. He was raised in Lowell, where he attended the area schools.
David was a private person, but he enjoyed fishing and spending time in solitude and watching country western movies. He was formerly a regular attendee of Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Lowell.
David is survived by his sons, Rick A. Welch of Lowell, MA, Leo Welch of Lowell, MA, Peter Welch of Tyngsborough, MA, Tim Welch of Stoneham, MA, and the late David L Welch; along with many grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and his half brother, Walter Cutress of Lowell, MA.
On Monday, January 13, 2025 his burial service will take place at 12 noon at St. Patrick Cemetery, 1251 Gorham Street, Lowell.
