Nancy Cheever Currey

Born January 23, 1944, to Londa and Bernadine Cheever, Nancy Cheever Currey passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at the age of 80. She devoted her life to her family, community, and career. Nancy worked for many years at Community Hospital of Anderson, where she most recently served as a Unit Secretary in the Obstetrics department. Her kindness, dedication, and warm presence left a lasting impact on colleagues and patients alike.
When she was younger, Nancy loved sports, with softball being her favorite. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors, finding joy in these activities. She had a beautiful voice and loved to share it with everyone, even complete strangers, spreading joy wherever she went.
Above all, Nancy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was deeply devoted to her family and poured love and care into every relationship. Her deep faith in the Lord was central to her life, and she lived that faith by sharing it with others. Nancy was a dedicated member of Eastview Church of the Nazarene, where her faith flourished, and she formed meaningful connections within her church community. Her unwavering belief and kind spirit touched countless lives, offering comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
Nancy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff & Lucinda Currey of Anderson and Jerry & Sheri Currey of Pendleton; seven grandchildren, Codi (Eric) Goodpaster, Jonna (Nate) Currey-Jester, Jennifer (companion, Jay Thomas) Padgett, Jamie (Allen) Hannah, Ashley (Austin) Currey-Hammel, Felicity Currey and Addison Currey; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon (Anita) Cheever of Muncie and Dave Cheever of Anderson; two sisters, Mary Ann Sheward and Jody (Ron) Tischler all of Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Troy Alan Currey; her parents, her siblings, Lonadine White, Pat Penrod, Harold, Steve, Bill, Richard and Jim Cheever.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Eastview Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ron Karkosky and Pastor Scott Tischler officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Eastview Church of the Nazarene.
