John David Silva, 59 of Lowell passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born in Lowell, MA on April 3, 1965 and was a son of the late Elmiro Reis Silva, and Beatrice (Lemieux) Silva of Beverly; and grandson of the late John Basilo, Maria (Reis) Silva, John Isadore Lemieux, and Aurora (Buxton) Silva.
John was raised in the Back Central Street area of Lowell. He worked for many years at Belmont Country Club and for Family Business Silva’s Lawn Care. In 1982, he moved to Florida with his family, where he worked for Family Business for several years. He also worked at Cab Company of Collier Co. in Naples, FL from 1997-2003; test drove prototype vehicles for Roush Industries; and was a professional driver at Airport Connections. Once returning to Amesbury, MA he worked for McPartland Corp. doing handyman services and apartment renovations.
Due to illness, he more recently resided in Beverly, MA and enjoyed boating, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Beatrice (Lemieux) Silva of Beverly; his brother, Anthony Silva and his wife, Trudy Anne of Marietta, Georgia; his aunt, Lorraine Aube and her husband, Robert of Beverly; his uncle, Philip Lemieux and his wife, Linda of Chelmsford; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his dad and grandparents, he was predeceased by his brother, the late Daniel John Silva.
On Saturday, January 4, 2024 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 1-3 p.m. followed by his funeral service at 3 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816.
