It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Megan M. (Currie) Young, age 41, of Hanson, who died unexpectedly on December 23, 2024. She was the devoted wife of Robert J. Young for 19 years. Megan was known for her strong will, determination and love and support for her family and community. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of Stephen and Maryellen (Newell) Currie of Bridgewater, MA
Megan lived in Hanson, but most of her early life was spent in Whitman where she attended Whitman-Hanson Regional schools.
For many years, Megan worked the early shift at the Dunkin Donuts Shop in Abington where she made many friends and helped create a community for coffee lovers around town. She loved to go camping, skiing the slopes as a kid, riding snowmobiles with Robert in the winter months and loved spending time in the kitchen cooking for the family every night.
A very loving and insightful friend, Megan was always there to give the best advice no matter the circumstance.
Megan was the sister of Sean P. (Erin) Newell of Bridgewater and aunt of Emma and Sara Newell. She also leaves her in-laws Robert E. (Cheryl) Young of Hanson and brother-in-law Michael P. Young of New York. She also leaves many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Megan’s Life will be held at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 1-4pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 4pm. Megan loved flowers and flowers will be welcomed for her services.
