MORAN, JAMES J., S.J. At 71, passed away in South Weymouth December 29; formerly of Boston, Fall River, and Weston; son of the late James E. Moran and Josephine (Ryan) Moran of North Quincy; survived by his Jesuit community, brothers Kevin and John, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In 1977, Jim Moran entered the Jesuits and became a brother, working as Prefect of Students and assistant Principal at Bishop Connelly High School in Fall River, and then at Boston College High School (1980-93). Ordained a deacon in May 1992, he served at St. Ann’s Quincy and St. Catherine of Siena Norwood. At Campion Center, he worked for Food for the Poor. He worked as a probation officer in 1994-96 in Boston Juvenile Court, and 2004-06 in Middlesex County. His final public ministry was Mount St. Joseph Academy (2004-06) in Rutland, VT as a valued member of staff for two years and as a Deacon in St. Peter's Church. In 2007 declining health forced him to relinquish these duties and move into assisted living to Campion Center until 2014 when specialized health requirements required him to move to other health facilities. After a long illness, he died at South Shore Hospital, South Weymouth. Reposing at Campion Center, 319 Concord Rd., WESTON. Concelebrated Funeral Mass in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Campion Center on Monday January 6 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Campion Center Cemetery.
