Donald G. ‘Don’ Rogers, 92, of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, December 30, 2024 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Lorraine (Mahoney) Rogers, with whom he just celebrated seventy years of marriage this past September.
He was born on May 7, 1932 in Cambridge, MA and was a son of the late Edward Rogers and the late Hazel (Tyler) Rogers. He was raised in the Cambridge and Somerville areas, where he attended the area schools. He lived there until getting married, at which point he moved to Tewksbury to start a family. Don worked for many years at Fay Paper in Norwood as a machine operator until his retirement in the 1980's.
Don loved spending his time operating HAM radios, reading, working on puzzles, grilling, and gardening, particularly growing tomatoes. He had a passion for travel, having visited places like London, the Grand Canyon, and many other destinations across the country. He took great pride in having explored more places than most. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Above all else, his family was his world; he was a dedicated father who cherished spending time with his daughters. He particularly enjoyed dancing with all the ladies in his life, including his granddaughters, especially his precious grand daugher Rachel, who was almost like a fifth daughter to him.
In addition to his beloved wife, Lorraine Rogers of Tewksbury, he is survived by his four cherished daughters, Valerie J. Kelley of Pelham, NH, Dawna Berube and her husband, Robert of Methuen, MA, Jeanne M. Graham and her husband, James of Denver, IN, and Toni A. Campbell and her husband, Richard of Tewksbury.
He also leaves behind his nine grandchildren, David Turner, Eric Turner, Ashley Owen, Rachel Kelley, Mark Berube, Samantha DeJoy, Colleen Cote, Jennifer Campbell, and Richard Campbell, Jr.; his six great grandchildren, Laci, Dylan, Samantha, Aaron, Sean and Grayson; and his brother, Ronald Rogers of Sanford, ME.
On Monday, January 6, 2025 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 12-3 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061.
