Brian Lomond, formerly of South Boston, passed away on December 27, 2024 surrounded by family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Brian is predeceased by his mother Clare and father Joe, his brothers and sisters Diane, Barry, Mark, and Andrea, and his son Matthew J. Lomond. Survived by his loving daughter Madelyn Lomond, Katie Johnson, his son Ryan Mayotte, and his sister Annette Rankin and her husband Stephen. Loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews Stephanie, Karen, Leah, Courtney, Brittney, Paul, Pam, Katelyn, Declan, Erin, Abby, Teddie, Noah, Elliott, Beatrice.
Brian was a Boston EMT for over 30 years, serving and caring for residents of Boston for decades. Brian loved the beach and could often be found at Old Silver in Falmouth or by the water at Castle Island. Brian had a deep love for sunrises and sunsets. Brian was caring, sarcastic, witty, and kind. He had a big heart and was always there to help anyone who needed it, both in his personal and professional life. Brian adored dogs and leaves behind his best friends Cali and Stryker.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 3-8pm at Casper Funeral Home at 187 Dorchester St. in South Boston. Funeral will be held at Gate of Heaven Catholic Church at 615 E 4th St. in South Boston, Saturday, Jan 4 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life after mass at Common Market at 97 Willard St. Quincy Ma, in which Brian has requested attendees wear Hawaiian attire.
