Michael P. Hodkinson, 68 passed away on 12/28/2024 at his home in Fall River, MA. He was the son of the late Harold J. Hodkinson, Jr. and the late Geraldine M. (Hopkins) Hodkinson.
He grew up in Swansea, MA where he lived with his parents and 4 siblings. He was a 1974 graduate of Bishop Connolly High School and studied Economics and Engineering at Southeastern Massachusetts University. As a young man he worked at AlMac's Grocery Store in Swansea, did substitute teaching, and worked at Steppingstone, Inc. in Fall River until his retirement.
His passions included watching his nephews and niece at their sporting events where he was often seen videotaping their various games. He also loved going to the movies on Friday nights, and best of all, loved the music of Elton John.
He leaves his siblings Debra A. Desmarais of Westport, Harriet J. Desrochers of Dartmouth and Robin M. Hodkinson of Fall River and is predeceased by his brother Harold J. Hodkinson, III of Swansea. He also leaves his niece and nephews including the late Bryan M. Desmarais of Westport, Christopher J. Desmarais and his wife Maureen L. Desmarais of Dartmouth, Nicole L. Snyder and her husband Andrew R. Snyder of Columbus, Ohio, Matthew J. Desrochers of Lakewood, Colorado, Daniel P. Desmarais and his wife Elizabeth H. Wood of Westport and David G. Desrochers of Fall River. He was also blessed with great nephews and nieces including Christopher J. Jr., Thomas P. & Kathryn A. Desmarais all of Dartmouth, Gwendellyn R. Desmarais of Westport, Cedelia C. (CC) Desmarais also of Westport, and Grace A., Joseph E., John R., Blaise M., Marie T., and Judah A. Snyder all of Columbus Ohio.
A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.
