Obituary

CHELMSFORD- Mrs. Nancy (Spanos) Papachristos, 98, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Bridges by Epoch Residences.

Nancy was born on November 15, 1926 in Lowell, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Dimitrios and Peristera ( Lantas) Spanos. She was married for seventy years to the late Christos C. Papachristos who pre-deceased her on April 2, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Chelmsford, she was a graduate of Chelmsford High School. Nancy went on to become an executive secretary for Raytheon Company in Bedford, for the Missile Systems Division where she worked for over twenty years.

Nancy was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell for most of her life. She enjoyed knitting, needle point, and was an avid reader. She moved to the Bridges by Epoch Residences where she enjoyed many social activities such as ballroom dancing and listening to live music.
Nancy was a caring and considerate person who put others before herself. She was most happy with her family teaching them Greek cooking and traditions in her kind and loving way.

Her family would like to thank her caregiver, Haydee Sanchez, for all her love, compassion, and professionalism in caring for Nancy.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Blaschuk, four grandchildren, Lisa Cefalo and her husband Mark, Leanne Goff and her husband Adam, Julia and Michael Blaschuk; four great grandchildren, Taylor Goff, Harper Goff, Alec and Kellin Warner; she also leaves her sister-in-law, Georgia Spanos, and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was pre-deceased by her husband, Christos, her son, Charles, her brothers and their wives, Charles Spanos and Elizabeth, George Spanos and his wife Vasiliki and her brothers, John Spanos, and Vasilios Spanos.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis Street, Lowell from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
