Worcester – Robert E. Shepard, 98, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024 in the Rose Monahan Hospice House.
Mr. Shepard was married for 66 years to the late, Louise T. (Lord) Shepard who passed away in 2014. He is survived by two sons, Robert Shepard and his wife, Frances of Worcester and Michael Shepard of Worcester; four daughters, Linda Fox and her husband, Bruce of Port Orange, FL, Roberta Carpenter and her husband, Roger of Charlton, Deborah Berthiaume of Worcester and Pamela Farkas of Worcester; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Bob was born in Worcester, son of the late Roy and Gertrude (Conlon) Shepard and lived in Worcester his entire life. He graduated from the former Commerce High School and then continued his education at the former Worcester Junior College where he attained an associate’s degree.
He worked for Commonwealth Gas Company for many years as an engineer retiring as a supervisor. Bob was a longtime member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Church where he made many friends and volunteered in numerous capacities.
He enjoyed visiting Florida with his wife, Louise and listening to country music, but he was truly the happiest when he was spending time with his family, especially all the times they would take time and go out dinner at local restaurants.
A private funeral mass was held in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church and burial was held in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
