Margaret Elaine (O’Hea) Sullivan, 75 of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the widow of the late Charles J. Sullivan, who passed away in 2011 after 15 years together. She was also previously married to the late Donald J. Macdonald who passed away in 1992.
She was born on September 30, 1949 in Glens Falls, NY and was a daughter of the late Thomas J. O’Hea and the late Margaret B. (Swears) O’Hea. She grew up in Ballston Spa, New York, and attended local schools. Later, she pursued further education by enrolling in secretarial courses.
Margaret also went by the nicknames “Peggy” and “Hope”. She worked as a secretary for many years, with positions at MIT and the former Nixdorf Computers, as well as other various jobs . In her younger years, she enjoyed ceramics and baking. She remained active throughout her life, participating in fishing, bowling, golfing, and playing darts. She was a die-hard NY Yankees fan and enjoyed poking fun at Red Sox fans, especially those in her family.
Her survivors include, her son, Roderick Macdonald of Lowell; her three stepchildren, Suzanne Butterworth and her husband, Ronald of Taunton, MA, Sandra Lyons and her husband, Robert of Douglassville, PA, and Laura Tinker and her husband, Heung-Gi of Pawling, NY. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Devon Macdonald of Salem, AL, Shannon Mellen of Methuen, MA, David Butterworth and his fiancé Joann Dimaria of Pawtucket, RI, Kasey Butterworth of Taunton, MA, Sarah Pitcher and her husband Elliott of Huntsville, AL, Matthew Lyons of Bristol, CT, Cole Tinker of Pawling, NY and Abby Tinker of Pawling, NY.
She is also survived by her brother Thomas “Timmy” O’Hea of NY, and her cat Matilda, AKA “Monkey”.
In addition to her parents and spouses, she was predeceased by her daughter, the late Kelly Stallworth, and her brother Wayne O’Hea.
