John S. Ferus, Jr., 93, of Westport passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center in Fall River. He was the husband of Edith D. (Ferreira) Ferus.
Born in Fall River, son of the late John Ferus and Jennie (Bloruiasz) Laiko, he had lived in Westport for most of his life. A Korean War veteran, he served his country in the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was the owner/operator of D. Ferus Company. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild Union and appeared in numerous T.V. and movie roles including Code of Ethics, Brotherhood and Coat Check. He had earned his private pilot's license and loved flying and working on airplanes.
Including his wife, survivors include 2 sons: Michael J. Ferus and his wife Jeannette of Acushnet and Kenneth S. Ferus and his wife Lisa of Seekonk; a daughter: Christine Custodio and her husband Hardy of Venice, FL; and 4 grandchildren: Samantha Costa, Morgan Costa, Zachary Ferus and Kyle Ferus.
He was predeceased by his step-father Steve Laiko.
Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M.
Memorial Visitation will be Tuesday from 8:30-9:30AM. prior to the Service.
Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
