Obituary

Olga M. (Santiago) Alvarado, a resident of North Andover, passed away at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts, on Thursday evening, December 19, 2024. She was 84 years old.

Born in Aguacatan, Guatemala, she was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel and Esmeralda H. (Herincx) Santiago. Olga was employed as a Factory Worker in New England for several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, having friends and family over, relaxing by solving jigsaw puzzles on her tablet computer and watching movies with her sons. She also enjoyed watching soap operas of all sorts, reading magazines when she could and connecting with her many friends on Facebook sending them positive messages of hope, charity and love. Her passing saddens our hearts. She will be dearly missed by many people.

Olga is survived by her loving sons; Victor M. Alvarado of Haverhill, Massachusetts and Mario A. Alvarado of Winter Haven, Florida, siblings; (sister) Concepcion C. Quinonez of Sunny Isles, Florida and (brother) Jorge G. Santiago of Gainesville, Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mario Santiago who passed away at a very young age and whom she loved very much.

Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Massachusetts, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 7 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home, prior to the service, from 5 to 7 PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
