Robert Benetti, 76, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home following a brief illness on Thursday, December 19, 2024 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Carol A. (Medeiros) Benetti with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Bob was born in Fall River, son of the late Cesare "George" Benetti and the late Vilma (Margarida) Benetti and had been a longtime resident of Westport.
A Vietnam veteran, he served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University.
Prior to retirement, Bob worked as a Union carpenter for Local 1305 and as a Supervisor for SDI construction. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing pool, chess and guitar.
Survivors, along with his wife, include his children: Angela (Samuel) Ferreira of Westport, Jessica (Brian) McQuoid of Foxboro, Christina Catelli of Portsmouth and Armand (Maryann) Ragonesi of Fall River; his grandchildren: Robbie Mello, Caitlin Greenhalgh, Connor Greenhalgh, Colin McQuoid, Jordan Souza, Ryan Souza, Brittani Ragonesi, AJ Ragonesi, and Alexis Ragonesi; 5 great grandchildren; and 5 brothers: Richard (Maryann) Benetti, Michael (Paula) Benetti, George (Carol) Benetti, Jeffrey Benetti and Steven (Claudia) Benetti; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday from 5-7 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
