Ann M. (Dolan) Spillane, age 87, of Brockton, died unexpectedly on December 17, 2024 at Brockton Hospital. Ann was the loving wife for 60 years of Edward J. Spillane.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Delia (Herlihy) Dolan. Ann was raised and educated in Dorchester where she attended St. Marks Grammar School and graduated from Dorchester High School.
Prior to raising her family, Ann worked for the American Bell Telephone Company in Boston. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. Always happy, outgoing, kind and generous, she enjoyed joining her friends for lunch and playing Bingo. Ann had been a communicant of St. Colman Church and a member of its’ Ladies Sodality group. When she was unable to attend mass at church she watched it daily on television.
Ann was the mother of Marilyn Salvucci of Bridgewater, Michael Spillane and his wife Brenda of Taunton, Edward T. Spillane of Brockton and the late Pamela Podgurski and Brian D. Spillane both of East Taunton. She was the grandmother of Matthew and Nicholas Spillane of Taunton, Michael and Nicole Salvucci of Bridgewater and Delia and Grace Podgurski of East Taunton. Sister of Catherine Kerr of Braintree, Frances Cotter of Weymouth, Julie Creel of Canton and the late Joseph M. Dolan, Margaret Curran and Mary Kelleher. She also leaves her son in law David Podgurski of East Taunton and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, on Monday, December 30 from 9-10am. A Funeral Mass will be held in Christ the King Church at 10:30am, followed by burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Bridgewater.
