Raymond E. Baker, Jr., 78, of Litchfield, NH, passed away Thursday December 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born on November 15, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Raymond and Veronica (Smith) Baker, and had been a resident of Litchfield for the past three years, formerly living in Derry for 38 years.
Raymond was a family man who worked hard to provide a stable home for his wife and two children. He did this with humility, compassion, and his unwavering devotion to his wife, Teresa, could be felt until his last breath. Sundays were spent with the family at Nubble’s Light in Maine. During the day, he enjoyed watching the birds from his sunroom and spent countless nights staring at the stars through his telescope. Raymond had a kind and gentle heart, and blessed were those who knew him.
He is survived by two sons, David Baker and wife Emily of Litchfield and Vincent Baker and wife Kristen Keane of Westfield, MA; thirteen grandchildren, Olivia Gilbride, Lydia Gilbride, Teresa Anne Clifford, Jameson Baker, Samuel Baker, Charlotte Baker, Natalie Baker, Gretchen Baker, Hunter Baker, Jason Baker, Athena Baker, Nolan Baker, and Myles Baker, one great grandson, Milo Santana Gilbride, one sister, Lois McAllister of Delaware, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Teresa (Vassallo) Baker in 2022, two sisters, Roseanna Moore and Helene Gilbert and one brother, Harvey Baker.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2 - 5 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23rd at 10:30am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 9 St. Francis Way, Litchfield, NH. The burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry.
