Mr. Randall “Randy” L. Latham, 72, of Ambrose, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Holt Baptist Church, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. William Pope and the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Holt Cemetery, with Jimmy Fennell delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1 PM.
Mr. Latham was born November 21, 1952, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late L.J. Latham & Venita Harper Latham Luke. Mr. Latham worked for General Motors for over 30 years and retired from the Corvette Assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2005. After his retirement he embarked on a trucking business that lasted until his death. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, stock car racing, late model car racing and hobby class car racing on dirt and asphalt tracks for over 20 years, making many lifelong friends. He was a member of Holt Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Latham of Ambrose; three daughters: Crystal & John Farmer of Savannah, Barbara Latham of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Tammy Busbin of Snellville; two sons: Michael & Kristi Busbin of Waterloo and Henry & Melissa Busbin of Tifton; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Marcus Latham of Ambrose and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joel Latham and his wife, Jobeth Latham.
