With profound sadness, the Brice family announces the passing of Jeanne Delva Brice. A loving mother, wife, grandmother, and pillar of strength, who departed this life peacefully on December 17, 2024 surrounded by family.
Jeanne was born on January 22, 1943 in Petite Guave, Haiti. She met the love of her life Pierre Brice and they married. In search of a brighter future, they moved to New York City in the 70(s) and decided that Boston, Massachusetts was where they should set their roots and built a new life with unwavering determination and grace. Jeanne’s journey from Haiti to Boston was marked by her indomitable spirit and her dedication to creating a better life for her family. She and Pierre both worked at Sheraton Boston Hotel on different shifts.
Together, they built a home filled with warmth, love, and the joys of family life. Jeanne was the devoted mother of three children: Roberson, Nerlande, and Robert Brice. Her children were the pride and joy of her life, and she nurtured them with boundless love, wisdom, and care.
Tragedy struck when Pierre Brice passed in February, 1987 and she chose to trust in her faith in God, church, friends “, and family to help guide her through. Faith is nothing without test and temperance as tragedy again challenged Jeanne, with the loss of Robert Brice in November 2009. And again she chose the same pillars that made her the child of God that she was and still is.
Jeanne was also the cherished grandmother of Mackenzie Brice, with whom she shared a special bond. Her role as a grandmother brought her immense happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with Mackenzie. And even more special was her bond with Ann, Mackenzie’s mother who she loved dearly.
Jeanne's legacy is one of love, resilience, and compassion. She was known for her kind heart, her willingness to help others, and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Jeanne will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace. Lastly, she loved this church and all of you, more than can be expressed here.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing hour on Friday December 27, from 10-11 AM followed by a Religious Service from 11-12 PM in the Church of the Holy Spirit, 525 River Street, Mattapan, MA. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA.
