Louise Anne Snow, 81, of Friendship Lane, Smithfield, passed away on Friday December 13th in the Stillwater Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Smithfield. She was the beloved wife of Richard Snow. Dick and Louise were married for 60 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Norma (Hargreaves) Straight, and her late birth mother Doris (Swift) Straight. She had lived in Smithfield for her entire life and was a member of the Greenville Baptist Church, Greenville.
She had graduated from Hope High School in Providence and Rhode Island College. She was a math and French teacher at Smithfield High School when it first opened in the 1960s. Later, she founded, owned, and operated a successful small business, LAS Engraving, for 30 years before retiring in 2008.
Her greatest joy was her family - whether it was entertaining her extended family at their home on Georgiaville Pond or catching up with her children or grandchildren on their latest activities. In her spare time, she could be found tending her beautiful gardens or watching a Boston Red Sox game. Louise loved her Golden Retriever Brandy.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Richard of Revere, MA, Derek of North Providence, and Gregory (and Kate) of Grand Rapids, MI; her sisters Cathy (and George) Lavoie and Wendy (and Michael) Farrell both of Smithfield; and grandchildren Henry and Elizabeth Snow of Grand Rapids, MI.
Her visitation will be held from 1pm to 2:30pm on Saturday, January 25th (Louise’s birthday). Prayers will be offered immediately following at 2:30pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
