Nancy M. (McLaughlin) McCaffrey-Seward, a 28-year resident of Woburn and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton. She was 71 years of age.
Nancy was born in Boston on May 12, 1953, a daughter of the late retired Boston Firefighter Francis X. McLaughlin and Phyllis C. (Cannon) McLaughlin. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1971. Nancy worked for many years as a waitress and was employed at the Continental Restaurant in Saugus, The Farragut House in South Boston and several other locations around the area. She was very proud of her roots in Charlestown and her Irish heritage. She enjoyed spending her summers in Laconia, New Hampshire with family and in her spare time she enjoyed baking, doing crossword puzzles and reading crime novels. She was also known to shop at any given store if she had the opportunity.
Nancy is the beloved wife of the late John J. "Jack" Seward. She is the loving mother to Kevin McCaffrey and his wife Jessica. She is the beloved sister of the late retired Boston Firefighter Francis G. McLaughlin and Jeannie Kelley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nancy's visiting hour on Thursday morning, December 19, 2024, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. Her burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
