Joanne (Muldoon) Donovan, 88, of Deerfield, NH, formerly of Derry & Hampstead, NH, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 14, 1936, in Methuen, MA a daughter of the late John and Gladys (Berry) Muldoon. Joanne worked as an OB nurse at Bon Secour Hospital, Methuen, MA for nearly 50 years. She was a long-time communicant of Holy Cross Parish in East Derry until their closure and following was a communicant of St. Anne’s in Hampstead. She enjoyed taking trips to CA and FL to visit family. She also was a part-time resident of the Lakeshore Club Villas, in Lakeshore, FL during the winter months. Joanne was an avid walker and enjoyed her daily walks around town.
She is survived by one daughter, Eileen T. Vogler and her husband William and one son, Paul J. Donovan and his wife Barbara; and grandchildren, Jason Donovan, Briana (Brian) Edmonson, Jacqueline (Andrew) Brown, Jacob (Olivia) Donovan, Michaela (Eli) Yandow, Matthew Donovan and fiancé Carli D’Antonio, Thomas (Joelle) Donovan, Peter Donovan, and John-Paul Donovan; nine great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Cecilia, Penny, Theodore, Abigail, Clara, Natalie, William and Remiel as well as extended family. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Mahlon W “Spud” Donovan in 2008.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 5 -7 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 18th at 1:30 pm in Saint Anne Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Inn At Deerfield (a memory care home) at 34 Ridge Road, Deerfield, NH.
