Obituary


Christopher J. Dalton, 57, of Wilmington, formerly of Medford, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2024. Born in South Portland, Maine and raised in Medford he was the cherished son of the late Frances A. "Sissy" Dalton.

A proud graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1986, Chris dedicated his career to working for UPS, where he was a respected and hardworking member of Teamsters Union Local 25.

Chris had a passion for sports that extended far beyond just being a fan. He loved nothing more than spirited conversations about his favorite teams and players, sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family. His boundless energy and genuine joy for sports created lasting connections and unforgettable memories.

Music held a special place in Chris`s heart. With an eclectic taste and a love for live performances, he found joy in attending concerts and connecting with others over shared musical experiences. His appreciation for the art form brought people together and left a lasting impact on all who shared those moments with him.

Above all, Chris was a devoted son, deeply committed to family. During his mother`s illness, he made profound personal sacrifices to ensure she could remain in the comfort of their home, honoring her love and devotion with selflessness and grace. His unwavering loyalty and compassion remain a testament to the strength of his character.

Chris is survived by his beloved grandfather, Joseph F. McCarthy of Wilmington; his uncles, James McCarthy and his wife Christine of Billerica, and Robert McCarthy and his late wife Linda of Ashburnham. He was a proud godfather to Lyndsey Insogna and Alyssa Granara and is also lovingly remembered by many cousins and dear friends.

Chris`s warmth, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be profoundly missed. His legacy of kindness and selflessness will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.

A funeral Mass and celebration of Chris`s life will be held on January 8, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Chris`s memory may be made to the Alzheimer`s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
