Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother
July 13, 1952 – December 11, 2024
Elaine Kathleen (Cusack) Fanciullo, 72, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph J. Fanciullo, Sr., who predeceased her in 2017 after nearly 50 years of marriage. A long time resident of Tewksbury, MA, Elaine will be remembered for her immense love for her family, her caring spirit, and the positive impact she had on everyone who knew her.
Born on July 13, 1952, in Cambridge, MA, Elaine, known to many as Kathy, was raised locally and attended St. Anthony’s Parochial School in Allston, before attending high school in Watertown, MA.
Throughout her life, Elaine balanced raising her children with a dedicated career. She worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at Hawthorne Brook Middle School in Townsend, MA, where she touched countless lives. Afterward, she spent over 21 years as a window clerk with the United States Postal Service in Concord, MA, retiring in 2008.
Elaine's true joy came from her family. A loving matriarch, she was not only devoted to her children but also took great pride in helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Outside of her family, Elaine was an avid gardener, passionate traveler, and, in recent years, a devoted fan of hockey, particularly the Winnipeg Jets.
Her family was the heart of everything she did. They will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Diane Marie (Fanciullo) Eatherton and her husband Philip Eatherton of Tewksbury; her son, Joseph John Fanciullo, Jr. of Lowell; four grandchildren, Ryan Eatherton and his wife Emma of Los Angeles, CA, Andrea Hellebuyck and her husband Connor of Orchard Lake, MI, Rachel Eatherton and her fiancé Joe Consolmango of Hudson, MA, and Joseph A. Fanciullo of Lowell. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Hugh Joseph and Violet Elaine, both of Orchard Lake, MI; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In addition to her husband, Elaine was predeceased by her mother, Marion (Varris) (Cusack) Zak, her brother, Michael A. Cusack, and her father, John F. Cusack, Jr.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Elaine’s memorial visiting hours on Wednesday, December 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
Her committal service will take place on Thursday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St, Winchendon, MA 01475.
