Julia Philogene (98) of New Bedford passed away December 7th at home under hospice care surrounded by her loving family just one day before her 99th birthday.
She was born in Cotes De Fer, Haiti, daughter of the late Moricles Philogene and Destina Cherise. Julia was a merchant back in her home country of Haiti and a communicant of Christ the King Church in Brockton. She enjoyed going to church, praying, singing in the church choir, cooking, playing cards and dominoes. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Julia is survived by 4 daughters, Marise Philogene of Haiti, Victoria Dambreville of New Bedford, Marie Jose Philogene Soto of Florida and Ketlie Vilcena of Haiti, (mother of the late Claude Philogene), her brother Ferret Philogene of Haiti, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Friday December 27th from 5-8 pm.
Services in the Funeral Home Saturday December 28th at 9 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street Brockton at 10:30 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton.
