CHICOPEE – Christine J. Atanian Champigny, 74, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving husband, Donald. She was born in Springfield on January 22, 1950, a beloved daughter of the late Kapiel Atanian and Bebe J. (Sigurdardottin) Atanian. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the former Classical High School and lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Chicopee in 1995. She furthered her education and received an Associate Degree from STCC in Springfield. She was employed for 45 years as an Operating Room Technician at Holyoke Medical Center and retired in 2014. She leaves her beloved husband of over 30 years, Donald O. Champigny; her brother, Michael Atanian; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Atanian; her nephew, Matthew Atanian; her niece, Beth Doyle and her husband, Matthew; and her loving “nephew” Austin V. Laplante. IN addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Heidi Atanian. A Committal Service will anounced and held in the spring at Sainte Rose Cemetery, Chicopee.
