Richard Lowell Jervis
May 29, 1933- December 9, 2024
Richard Lowell Jervis, 91, of Anderson, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 9, 2024, following a five month illness.
Richard was born on May 29, 1933 in Cutler, IN, the son of Herbert and Hilda (Aiken) Jervis. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and later was employed for 31 years in production with Delco Remy Division of General Motors. He was also a barber in Chesterfield for 65 years and attended Chesterfield Christian Church. Richard loved sports of all kinds, especially the Indy 500, IU sports, and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his harvest with others. He loved playing board games with his family. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed participating in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. with his fellow veterans.
He is survived by his wife Frances Melton Jervis, whom he married October 18, 1959 in Anderson; two daughters, Robyn (DR) Miller of Pendleton, and Rhonda (Scott) Francis of Olathe, KS; four grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Michaela Miller, Alexandra Francis, Jacob Francis; great grandchild, Amiya Franklin; sister, Bonita Widner ; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and five siblings; JC, Gordon, Joe, Gene, and Linda.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11 AM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tunnels to Towers, St. Judes, or Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Richard.
The family is most grateful for the loving care of nurse Lisa during Richard’s final hours.
