L. Rene Lafleche, 82, of Litchfield, NH, passed away Sunday December 8, 2024 in his home in Litchfield, NH. He was born on September 25, 1942 in Webster, MA, a son of the late Emile and Emily (Chabot) Lafleche. Rene was a graduate of Bartlett High School in Webster, MA, class of 1960, and spent his lifelong career as a skilled Tool and Die Maker, contributing his expertise at Johnson Precision. His day typically began with a cup of coffee and reading the Union Leader newspaper, keeping him informed and grounded in daily news.
Outside of work, he had a passion for collecting, particularly movies and coins. His love for NASCAR was another defining aspect of his life, and he proudly amassed a collection of NASCAR Diecast Model Cars over the years.
He is survived by his three children, Mark P. Lafleche of Maine, Lesley Amburg and husband Michael of Florida, and Amy Begonis and husband Tom of New Hampshire, who he resided with for the past seventeen years; three grandchildren, Shawn Amburg, of California, Cameron Lafleche and Gillian Lafleche, both of Maine.
In accordance with Rene’s wishes, his family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
