BELMONT ---- Spencer D. Barnard, 74 years of age, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in his home.
Spencer was born on February 16, 1950, in Laconia, New Hampshire, to the late Lloyd and Natalie Barnard, of Lochmere, New Hampshire. He was the oldest of three children.
Spencer was a former Staff Sergeant and Communications Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Spencer enjoyed reading books and dedicated his life to serving his country and his family. His unwavering spirit and commitment to those he loved will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and strength.
Spencer leaves to cherish his loving memory a son, Christopher Barnard, of Denver, CO, and a daughter, Leslie Clark, of Belmont, NH. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Tivey; nephews, William Barnard and Colter Kuss, of Belmont, NH, Melissa Craig and Robert Tivey; and grandchildren, Spencer M. Barnard, Andrew Champion, Genevieve Clark. In addition to his parents, Spencer is predeceased by his son Michael David Barnard and his brother Lloyd Steven Barnard.
Burial with military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11:30am at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
The Barnard family will announce a Celebration of Life at a later date.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Spencer.
