Electra Jean Parigian, 92, passed away peacefully at home in Lowell on Friday, December 6, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Asadour Oscar Parigian who passed away in 2016.
Electra, born in Brockton, MA on June 18, 1932, was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Beslarides) Kominis. She was a lifelong resident of Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1949. She went on to graduate from Lowell State Teachers College (now the University of Massachusetts Lowell) with a Bachelor of Arts in 1953 and subsequently earned her Master of Education.
Mrs. Parigian began teaching in Burlington, MA, but spent most of her career as a teacher in Lowell. Electra’s teaching focused on remedial reading and special education. She retired in 1995 but continued as a substitute teacher and tutor until 2016. Electra’s students and friends were very important to her.
Electra resided in Belvidere and was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Church in Lowell. Her legacy is that of a loving Mother and Grandmother and a respected teacher. She was also a people person who deeply valued her friendships. In her younger days, she enjoyed golf and was a former member of Longmeadow Golf Club.
Electra is survived by her two sons, Theodore C. Parigian and his wife, Corine, of Atkinson, NH and Mark S. Parigian of Lowell; and three grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Rachel Parigian, all of Atkinson, NH.

On Friday, December 13, 2024 all are welcome to attend her visitation from 10 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis Street, Lowell, MA. Her funeral will be held in the church immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. A procession will follow for burial at Lowell Cemetery.
