CORNISH- Robert (Bob) S. Scott 91, of Cornish, Maine, passed away on December 4, 2024, at his home after a long illness surrounded by his family. He was born in Cornish, Maine, January 17, 1933, son of the late Howard and Phyllis Scott. After graduating from Cornish High School in 1951, Bob joined the Navy and served until 1955
during the Korean Conflict. He worked in manufacturing at the Baker Company in Sanford for many years. He married his wife Claire in 1953 and they spent 66 years together.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Claire, son Roy, grandson Zachary, granddaughter Melissa, and his brother Norman. He is survived by his children - Eugene, Duane and his wife Shirley, Frank and his wife Gwen, and Neil; daughter-in-law - Jeanne; grandchildren - Nicholas, Ryan, and Jason and great granddaughter Theodora.
Bob’s passion throughout his years remained maintaining his small farm in Cornish. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and gardening. He also enjoyed the old country style music and playing the harmonica and guitar with his sons and grandsons at family gatherings. Robert was a gentle soul of very few words who was loved by all of those having the honor of knowing and caring for such a kind man. He will truly be missed and will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday December 21, 2024, from 10 AM - 12 noon, followed by a 12 noon funeral service at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St. in Cornish, Maine. Burial to follow with immediate family in Cornish, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Rt.1, Scarborough, Maine, 04074 for the support Bob received in his last few months of life.
