Nancy M. (Schelter) Janelle, 81, passed away on December 5, 2024 at Spring Arbor Senior Living in Winchester, Virginia with her sister by her side.
Born in Westport, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Henry and Matilda (Turek) Schelter, Nancy was a longtime resident of Edgewater, Maryland. Prior to retirement, she was the owner of Krieg Taylor Lithograph in Maryland. She was a member of the Baltimore Ski Club and continued skiing into her 50s. Nancy enjoyed musical theatre and volunteered for years at the Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre. Along with being a volunteer, she was a devoted and proud member of the US Naval Academy Sponsor Program with many Midshipmen passing through her house. Nancy loved visiting the National Parks with her family and always looked forward to traveling.
Nancy was preceded in death by her sister Ann Fitzgerald. Survivors include a brother: Henry Schelter, Jr. and his wife Louise of Towanda, PA; a sister: Leona Davis and her husband Tom of Winchester, VA; several nieces and nephews; and her husband Richard V. Janelle.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home from 8:30 - 9:30 A.M. prior to the Mass.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 14, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport, MA at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mass Audubon Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary, 1280 Horseneck Road, Westport, MA 02790.
