Charlotte Ann (Harrington) Mangano, 88, of Bellingham, died Friday, December 6, 2024, at Metro West Medical Center in Framingham surrounded by family.
Born in Lowell, Charlotte was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte (Scully) Harrington. She attended and graduated from Lowell Schools. She then attended school to become an x-ray technician, working at Malden Hospital, where she met her Husband, George.
She was the beloved wife of the late George Mangano for 63 years. Together they spent most of their married years residing in Bellingham and raising their family. They also enjoyed many wonderful times traveling and going to Cape Cod.
Charlotte worked for the Town of Bellingham for many years, first at Bellingham School System and later as a clerk in the Town Hall, eventually retiring from the Building Inspector’s office. After retirement Charlotte and her husband lived in Uxbridge for 14 years where she enjoyed being part of the Red Hat Society as well as the Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Mary’s Church. She loved sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting and was an avid book reader. She and her husband later moved to Atria Draper Place in Hopedale, where she made many friends and enjoyed all the activities. Most recently Charlotte lived at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.
Charlotte’s most cherished times were spent with her family. She is survived by three sons, Matthew Mangano and his wife Ann of North Providence, Rhode Island, William Mangano and his wife Barbara of Hopedale and Daniel Mangano and his fiancée Diane Kelleher of North Attleboro and three daughters, Marilyn Dawe and her husband Brian of Belmont, Christina Woznicki and her husband Mike of Southbridge and Sheila Serra and her husband Sylvio of Uxbridge. She was predeceased by her son George Mangano, Jr. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Jack Harrington, Raymond Harrington and Maureen Rowntree. She had many wonderful nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Graveside services will take place privately at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway at a later date.
