Virginia Monica Rodarte, age 87, passed away peacefully in her home in Ojai on November 25, 2024. Born on May 4, 1937, in Santa Ana, Ventura County, she was the daughter of Laurence and Heliberta Valencia.
Virginia was a talented professional seamstress who touched the lives of many with her creativity and craftsmanship. Over the years, she was known for her love of music, singing, painting, and most of all, being with her family and friends, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Virginia was married twice, first to John Aguilar and later to Breckie Rodarte. She leaves behind her children, Mona Campbell, John Jr., Jim, Ron Rodarte, and Yvonne Morris. She also is survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 niece, and 3 nephews, as well as her two brothers, Joseph and Edward Valencia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Heliberta Valencia, as well as two sisters, Josephine and Margaret Valencia, and one brother, Bartholomew Valencia.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, with a Most Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, CA (805-643-8623). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:30am in the Mission Basilica San Buenaventura. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.
