SPRINGFIELD - Carole A. (Connelly) Sullivan, 83, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center in East Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on July 10, 1941, a beloved daughter of the late Dennis F. and Rose M. (Feustel) Connelly. A lifelong resident of Springfield, she graduated from Cathedral High School, Class of 1959, and continued her education at the Goth Business School in Springfield. She was employed for many years in the billing department at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Cornelius E. "Connie" Sullivan. They were married on May 2, 1964 at Holy Family Church in Springfield and they were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two loving and devoted children, James R. Sullivan and his wife, Debra, of West Springfield, and Kathleen M. Breton and her husband, Atty. Gary Breton, of East Longmeadow; her four cherished grandchildren, Michael Sullivan, Kate Page and her husband, Jordan, Ashley Breton and her partner, Sean Gildea, and Brooke Breton and her partner, Leo Eaton; her three cherished great grandsons, Declan and Griffin Page, and Tyler Sullivan; her dear sister-in-law, Carolyn (O'Connor) Connelly of Springfield, and her sons, Rev. Msg. Christopher D. Connelly and Atty. Daniel J. Connelly and his wife, Casey, and their children, James, Will, and Cate; and her extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved brother, Atty. Robert F. Connelly who was Called Home on March 7, 2016. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in Carole's memory to the Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
