After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's, Glendora Jane Brusch, age 90, peacefully passed away due to natural causes. She was awakened by angels and ushered into the presence of Jesus at 2:30 p.m. on November 1, 2024.
Jane was born in Boston, MA. on May 1, 1934. She was the second born child of Arthur and Verna MacKenzie, and had two siblings. Jane grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she attended grade school and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin. She went on to explore her love for art immediately thereafter.
Initially, she took courses at Jackson Vonlotto School of design but completed her four-year degree at Massachusetts College of Art, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. This achievement propelled her into her first job as an artist for the Christian Science Publishing Society.
Eventually, Jane would meet the love of her life, Charles A. Brusch, an accomplished medical doctor who happened to be the personal physician to the President of The United States, John F. Kennedy. They married, and from that point on, she remained a devoted wife who enjoyed the privilege of keeping a home, finding time to do freelance art work, entertaining guests at holidays and house parties and serving in her church.
A devout Catholic, Jane was a true Christ follower. She lived her life to please the Lord. You would often find her on a Sunday morning greeting parishioners on their way into Mass or proclaiming God's goodness in congregational worship led by The St Paul's boys’ choir.
Matthew 6:21 says "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also be." In her adult years some may say she lived an extraordinary life. However, no amount of worldly influence or power would change the vision God placed on her heart. Jane had a sweet and simple demeanor and knew that giving her life to Jesus Christ was of far greater value than anything she could obtain here on earth. She trusted and loved Him supremely. It's her legacy and one that we hope to honor in her absence.
Jane leaves behind her sister, Verna Bradford-Haslam, sister-in-law, Maralyn MacKenzie, as well as her three beloved nieces (Alexandra MacKenzie, Jacqueline Porro, Jennifer Holt) and two beloved nephews (Christian MacKenzie, Cameron MacKenzie) along with their extended families.
She is preceded in death by her father, (Arthur George MacKenzie), mother (Verna Rabey MacKenzie), brother (Arthur George MacKenzie Jr.) and husband (Charles A. Brusch).
Saturday, December 7th at 10 AM there will be a Mass at St John’s Church, Quincy and burial to follow at Mt Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
