LACONIA ---- Werner E. “Tony” Dietrich, 80, of Laconia, NH, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 1, 2024, after a brief illness.
Tony was born in Vienna, Austria, and emigrated to the United States with his family in 1956. He graduated from Binghamton Central High School, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Dramatic Arts from Syracuse University. Following graduation he moved to Manhattan, enjoying its many cultural attractions. He retired in 2003 from a career at Off-Track Betting (OTB).
He was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Mary Dietrich; a sister Lore Brock and brother-in-law Watson Brock; and a beloved husband and devoted companion of 46 years, Edwin Allard. He is survived by his brother Fred Dietrich (Lorraine Pajerek), of Union Springs, NY; one niece, Michele Kahlich (Thomas), of Austin, TX; and three nephews, Christopher Dietrich, of Ballston Lake, NY, Scott Dietrich (Jacquelyn Gourley), of Coatesville, PA, and Preston Brock (Cheryl), of Austin, TX. He is also survived by a grandnephew, three grand nieces, and by a cousin Karin Suurd in Holland.
A Calling Hour will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 12:00pm-1:00pm, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations in Tony’s name be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
