Obituary

LYMAN- Roger Ralph Camire, age 70, passed away on November 30th, 2024 surrounded by
loved ones at his home following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine on November 25th, 1954, the son of Henry and Frances
(Morissette) Camire. Roger attended Cousins Memorial School and graduated from
Massabesic High School in 1972. Roger grew up in close proximity to many of his cousins, and
enjoyed a childhood surrounded by their companionship. Following high school Roger married
Carol Moreau and they bore two children, Brian and Valerie. Roger worked as a builder and
carpenter for many years, following in the footsteps of his Grandfather Lucien Camire. Roger
built many beautiful homes over the years with great attention to detail, and was highly regarded
within the community.
Following the ending of his previous marriage, In 1994 Roger met the love of his life Mary
Plante when she began working with him, assisting with bookkeeping. Roger and Mary went on
to marry on September 21st of 1996. Together Roger and Mary took over the ownership and
operation of Kennebunk Glass, a local glass shop, where they worked side by side until 2016
when Roger’s health began to decline.
Roger enjoyed the outdoors, and could often be found on his tractor working around his yard
landscaping, meticulous in everything he did. Snowmobiling was also a passion of Rogers and
he enjoyed many trips with friends and family over the years. Selfless in nature, Roger was
always one to lend a helping hand, often found building something for someone in need,
volunteering at a church dinner, or plowing out a neighbor in the winter. Family was paramount
in Roger’s life, and the time spent raising his children and watching his grandchildren grow,
brought him great joy. From coaching his daughter’s softball team, to building his grandchildren
an elaborate playhouse, or packing down the best sledding hill, he continually created lasting
memories for his children and grandchildren alike.
As a proud Lyman resident of 70 years, Roger enjoyed serving on the Lyman Historical Society.
He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, previously serving as Grand Knight.
Roger was a member of the Lyman snowmobile club and enjoyed his time assisting with trail
work and building maintenance, when his health allowed.
