Joyce M. (Hale) Wilson, 70, of Worcester, died on Saturday, November 30th at UMass Memorial Hospital – University Campus. She leaves two sons, Juan Rodriguez and his wife, Gina of West Boylston and Alexander Rodriguez of Worcester; two daughters, Marcella Jimenez of Boston and Sherry Germain of Worcester; three brothers, James Hale of NC, Robert Hale and his wife, Aida of Worcester, and Henry Hale and his wife, Kathy of TN, Harriet Hale, and Charlotte Hale; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Willis Wayne Wilson; a daughter, Sharon Victoria Staines; five sisters, Sharon Smith, Janee Baldwin, Lorraine McCart, Cynthia Fay Hale, and Ruth Ann Hale.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of James M. and Ruth E. (Martin) Hale. Joyce was a devoted and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant at St. Mary’s Nursing Home, where she worked for many years, touching the lives of countless residents and staff with her kindness and unwavering dedication. Joyce had a passion for caring for others and brought warmth and comfort to everyone she encountered. Her work as a CNA was more than just a job—it was her calling, and she approached it with love and commitment, making a lasting impact on those who were fortunate to know her.
Outside of her professional life, Joyce had many joys and hobbies that brought her happiness. She enjoyed spending time at the casino, particularly at Twin Rivers, where she would try her luck and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Joyce also cherished the time she spent with her family and sisters, with whom she shared a close and loving bond. She was known for her adventurous spirit, often taking trips down south to visit her beloved relatives, creating lasting memories with each visit. Joyce’s laughter, warmth, and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
Her funeral is Friday, December 6th with a Mass beginning at 11:00am in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 929 Main Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street. Visitation will be on Friday, December 6th from 9:00am until 10:30am in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
