Doris D. (Blanchette) Cusson, age 89, a 53-year resident of Winchester, passed away on November 30, 2024, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife for 67 years of Edward M. Cusson.
Born in Fairhaven, MA, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Lydia (Richard) Blanchette. She was raised and educated in Fairhaven and attended Sacred Hearts Academy in Fairhaven. She and Ed were married in 1957 and made their home in Acushnet before settling in Winchester to raise their family.
A homemaker with 3 sons, Doris ran a busy household. When the children were older, she went to work at Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, going to yard sales and doing jigsaw puzzles. Above all, she was dedicated to her family.
In addition to her husband, Ed, Doris is survived by her sons: Charles Cusson and his wife Susan of Westford, Michael Cusson and his wife Jean of Woburn and Alan Cusson and his wife Mary of Braintree. She was the devoted grandmother of Cheryl Santos, Sarah Georgin, Christopher, Aimee, Alexandra, Teddy and Rory Cusson, and the great-grandmother of Colton, Lila, Landon, Juliet and Henri. She was the dear sister of Juliete Carreiro, Lorraine Borque, Donald Blanchette, and Omer Blanchette, Jr., all of Fairhaven, Lilian Langlois of Acushnet and the late Teresa Cleveland and Albert Blanchette. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 12 noon. Visiting Hours will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Saturday, December 7, prior to Mass from 9:30-11:30AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
