Barbara Lou Bruzzese
February 27, 1936- November 28, 2024

Barbara Lou (Boyce) Bruzzese, 88, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was born on February 27, 1936 in Niagara Falls, New York, the daughter of James and Mary (Dashineau) Boyce.

Barbara worked as a secretary at the Board of Church Extension Office and St. John's Hospital and kept active with many volunteer positions. She attended Park Place Church of God and regularly visited with homebound, hospital, and nursing home church members. She was a member of the Marmee Club and the Companaro Club. She had been a volunteer with the Park Place Food Pantry for over 20 years and volunteered with hospice patients for five years.

Before her time in Anderson, Barbara served the Church of God in Niagara Falls as a Sunday School Teacher, pianist, organist, and youth leader along with her husband, Phil.

She filled similar positions at the Richmond Portland Oregon Church of God. In SanJose, California, her volunteering included serving as a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader.

Barbara's greatest joy was spending time with family. She loved playing with the grandkids and great grandkids.

Barbara is survived by her husband Phil, whom she married October 15, 1955; her children, Kathy (James) Mougeotte and Wayne (Michelle Herr) Bruzzese all of Anderson; grandchildren, Jason (Stacey) Burns, Jared Bruzzese, Paul (Shawnee) Bruzzese and Branden (Krystal) Bruzzese; and five great grandchildren; a cousin/sister, Beth Udat; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Donald and Irene Schrader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James and a grandson, Jeffrey.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Community Hospice and special caregivers Sandi and Sharon Upperman.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Park Place Church of God Food Pantry.
